Sammons' Photography Halloween 2008

HALLOWEEN 2008 was so much FUN with my WIZARD OF OZ children. Sienna was Glinda the Good Witch, Carissa was Dorothy, and Creighton was the Cowardly Lion. I must say that they looked adorable! My mother, a very talented seamstress (I do not know how to sew), made the Dorothy costume for Sienna 3 years ago and Carissa was able to wear it this year. Those who know me (Darla) know that I'm a huge Wizard of Oz fan. I even have Oz Christmas lights, a Christmas tree FULL of Oz decorations, all of the Madame Alexander Wizard of OZ dolls from McDonalds from 2006 and 2008, and much more. We went to BOO At The ZOO here in Lincoln at the Children's Zoo on 10/29/08 and then trick & treated in Hastings at my brother Darin's and sister-in-law Shellie's house on Halloween. The weather was soooo nice both days! Of course the girls received LOTS of candy and had a great time dressing up. Creighton just hung out with us and loved all the decorations and jack-o-lanterns. My mother also came to Hastings and went trick & treating with all of us. When my twin brother, Darin and I were growing up, my mother made the BEST costumes for us. Through the years we were Raggedy Ann & Andy, the Exorcist (me) and the Priest (Darin), Mr. and Mrs King Kong (she even hand made rubber facial pieces and glued them to our faces so we really looked like King Kong), Miss USA and Uncle Sam, Wicked Witch (made and glued a rubber nose and chin to my face) and Dracula,
Shaw of Iran and the Hutchback or Notre Dame, two of the singers from the band KISS (very popular rock back from the 1970's), Peter Pan ( with my Barbie as Tinker Bell that had wings that lit up) and Captain Hook, and even Chinch Bugs. Our home town held an event every year on Halloween and all the little children would dress up and parade around down town for everyone to see. During the parade the children in costumes would be judged by designated judges and win prizes for each age group. We won every year except for when we were KISS because the judges didn't know who KISS was. Thanks MOM for all the fun Halloween memories!

"Get away from me you wicked old witch."

Sweet smile for candy!

"Trick or Treat"

Warning: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TAKE YOUR OWN PICTURES OF YOUR OWN CHILDREN IN A STUDIO. POUTING, CRYING AND CHAOS WILL OCCUR. However, we were able to get one semi-happy picture of them.

Creighton made us laugh so hard after we put this costume on him. He already has his Badge of Courage after defending off his sisters on a daily basis from constantly wanting to hold and kiss him! HAPPY 1ST HALLOWEEN, CREIGHTON!!!

BRIDE...Jennifer & GROOM...Derek

Bride + Groom + Love + Fun + Great Weather = FABULOUS WEDDING!
We couldn't have had a better time at Jennifer and Derek's wedding. They are such a sweet couple. I know I say this all of the time, but we have so much fun with the wedding party. Their wedding party truly ROCKED! We loved the hay rack ride and I don't think I have ever laughed so much with a wedding party during location pictures! Thank you Jennifer and Derek for a fun day. Many blessings for a lifetime of love and laughter!

Congrats Justina & Tyler

I just LOVE weddings!!!

Justina and Tyler had the BEST weather for an outdoor wedding in August. It was in the 80's and partly cloudy with a slight breeze. As you can see, Justina made an absolutely gorgeous bride. They had their romantic ceremony on the grass in between the greens at Hidden Valley Golf Club and then the reception immediately followed at the club house. Eric Underwood is the food and beverage director at Hidden Valley and did a fantastic job to make sure that everyone enjoyed the food and reception. Again, we had a blast with the wedding party. They "kidnapped" the bride & groom and we all drove around on country roads and stopped for a photo op. I love it when I get to do location wedding photography after the ceremony because everyone is relaxed and full of laughs. Justina and Tyler, may your life be blessed with good health, lots of love, laughter, wealth, and happy children!!!

RENE + TREVOR = LOVE

Rene couldn't have been any more beautiful in her absolutely gorgeous gown. Rene's mother hand made her veil and even hand sewn crystal beads on it. It will surely be a family heirloom. Trevor was all smiles when he saw Rene for the first time on their wedding day. What a beautiful reception Rene and Trevor had. The Chez Hay was a perfect and romantic setting for a wedding reception. Everything from the food to the D.J made this a memorable day for all who attended. Rene and Trevor have the nicest parents. Including Rene's "host parents." Rene is from South Africa and came to UNL on a track scholarship and lived with her "host parents" while she was in college. We were honored to have been a part of such a special day for a wonderful couple!

May Wedding for Nicole and Joel

We photographed Nicole and Joel's wedding on May 24, 2008. They were one of the most relaxed couples we have photographed on their wedding day. I loved that Nicole wore Sketcher tennis shoes for her bridal shoes. Joel is a fan of John Deere and had it implemented throughout the reception from coasters to the grooms cake. One of the unique things they did was have the wedding party do a scavenger hunt duing the reception. It was a hoot seeing them run around gathering items from the wedding guests. Thanks Nicole and Joel for having us be a part of your special day. It was a lot of fun!

Congrats Michelle and Chris

Here are just a few images from Michelle and Chris's wedding which was on July 26, 2008. This fun loving couple were referred to us from another bride and groom after we had photographed their wedding. We had a BLAST at Michelle and Chris's wedding and reception! The dance floor was full of fun dance moves and laughter during the entire reception. They had NINE bridesmaids, NINE groomsmen, FOUR flower girls, THREE ring bearers, and FOUR ushers. It was a huge wedding and reception. The entire wedding party, including the children, were great during the formal pictures. The beautiful wedding cake was made by Michelle's sister-in-law, Sarah Sharp. Michelle's brother, Matt Sharp, is the general manager of Whiskey Creek Wood Fire Grill in Norfolk, which catered the best tasting prime rib for the reception. I loved the bright summer colors Michelle had in her wedding---hot pink, lime green, and hot orange. Cheers to Michelle and Chris!

A New Born Session with Baby Creighton

Our good friends Chad and Gina Zabloudil with Zabloudil Photographics took pictures of our family during Creighton's newborn session. It was quite challenging to get our two spunky little girls to smile at the same time! Thank you Chad and Gina for taking time out of your busy schedule to photograph our family.

Much love for this baby Creighton!

I really liked this one of Sienna holding Creighton. She LOVES to hold him!

There are always plenty of kisses for Creighton!

Little Green Track Club

Sienna has participated in Little Green's Track Club for four years now. It is a nonprofit organization that teaches children how to to run in track. It is also teaches them team work, confidence, and how to have fun!

Sienna runs her best for the last race of the year!

Our friends little boy Cooper also participates in Little Green and gladly poses for a picture with Sienna!

Carissa is too young to run in Little Green Track Club, but she still had fun cheering for her sister every Tuesday night for the past 2 months.
